Proposed Extension: Hykeham Road, Lincoln. The existing ground floor of the house was limited, with a narrow kitchen, externally accessed out house and separate dining area leading out to the rear garden.
The brief was to extend the ground floor with a modern single storey extension in a mix of blue engineering brick and cedar. The design provides a spacious kitchen, living and dining space where the family can enjoy more space and interaction. The space creates a study area for homework or a space for flexible working.
The reconfiguration of the ground floor relocates the utility room centrally to the home whilst opening the existing hallway and creating a WC.
The result provides a bright and large family space with bi-fold doors opening out onto the garden. The extension and refurbishment will transform the ground floor into a light, spacious home for modern family living.
