The existing house was limited, with just two bedrooms upstairs and with a young, growing family this area would soon be outgrown. The brief was to create a modern 4 bedroom home with an additional 2 bedrooms and both an en suite and a family bathroom to the first floor, while reconfiguring the ground floor space to provide an open plan living/kitchen/dining space with a playroom, whilst retaining a separate sitting room.
The design created 2 additional bedrooms over an existing garage with innovative design providing four double bedrooms, a landing overlooking a green roof and reconfiguring the existing bathroom and airing cupboard to enlarge the family bathroom, whilst providing a boutique style en suite and master bedroom for our clients.
Downstairs we redesigned the existing kitchen and dining room, removing walls to provide a bright and large family space with bi-fold doors opening out onto the garden. We retained a large sitting room to the front of the property whilst incorporating a light and airy play room with a storage wall and oak window seat, the perfect place for reading your favourite book!
The extension and refurbishment has transformed a 1970’s home in need of TLC, into a light, spacious home for a modern family living.
