The client was looking to redesign and refurbish an existing bungalow. The brief was to create a modern 4 bedroom home with the addition of a newly created first floor to enable the bedrooms to be moved upstairs, achieved by lifting the roofline.
This provided more design scope and meant the ground floor space was completely redesigned to provide a light, modern open plan feel to the house. The architectural solution created much needed additional bedrooms in the roof by increasing the angle of the existing room. A new large entrance was designed with a covered area externally and a feature staircase designed internally.
An en suite and dressing room have been designed for the master bedroom while downstairs a large open plan kitchen/living/dining space has been created, perfect for entertaining family and friends. Corner bi-folds have been designed, opening out the living area of the house into the garden. The works will transform this 1980’s bungalow to a modern, open plan home flooded with natural light.
